LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA

Happy 2 Year Anniversary to Us
(insert mushy sentimental stuff here)

Obviously, I capitalized on the occasion by booking a weekend getaway to Langkawi, Malaysia.  Langkawi is an island in the Andaman sea, and only an hour flight on Silk Air (the budget version of Singapore airlines).  It has plenty to do, but we opted to skip the touristy attractions and park ourselves at our colonial-style resort The Danna.

What initially attracted us to The Danna was the massive infinity pool, and it did not disappoint.  However, the real surprise were all the little extras - complimentary chair massages on arrival, pool staff cleaning your sunglasses, free poolside popsicles and refreshments, complimentary champagne brunches - just really top-notch.  We had no reason to ever leave.

In hindsight, probably should have checked on that floating man

And these doors...

One of the more humorous moments of the trip had to be our experience at the "cultural BBQ".  The resort knew it was our anniversary, and to romance-it up - seated us at a dinner table in the hot tub. No Joke.  Obviously, this was hilarious, and after few close calls of completely falling into the pool, the staff changed all our dinnerware from glass to plastic (oops!)

The Danna really pulled out all the stops in terms of luxury, and when we weren't at the pool - we were wandering the pristine grounds of the resort.  All-in-All a perfect anniversary trip!

He has this thing with Koi fish...
and crabs....
(His crab hunting pose gets me everytime)

(and yes, my husband is still crab hunting)

Peace out Langkawi.
