Kyle & Meg in Asia - Part 2

After a few days exploring Cambodia, we returned to Singapore to continue showing Kyle and Meg our favorite spots.
We began with the monorail to Sentosa Island and explored Fort Siloso, where the Japanese surrendered to the British in World War II ending the conflict in Singapore.  The museum is very well done, allowing people to explore bunkers and watch-towers.

After the museum, we headed for some famous Tian Tian Chicken and Rice, and then split up into boys and girls groups.  Kyle and Jim enjoyed their afternoon at the barber, while Meg and I went to the Fish Spa.  After a relaxing swim, we headed to the rooftop of Marina Bay Sands and Boat Quay for some cocktails.

Fish Spa - seriously sooo ticklish!

We continued our active streak with a hike at MacRitchie Resouvoir, my favorite hike in Singapore.  Per usual, we saw loads of monkeys.

After a fun day, we capped it off with dumplings at our favorite Hawker and drinks at our favorite bars - Potato Head Folk (CNN named one of the World's Hottest New Cocktail Bars) and The Library (a hidden, password protected speakeasy).

I dream about these dumplings..

On Meg and Kyle's last day,  we took a very very small boat to Pulau Ubin - a small island off of Singapore that is largely free from urban development.  We had recovered from the bike ride in Cambodia, so we decided to rent bikes to explore.  The scenery was gorgeous and a bit of cloud cover made for a perfect day.

Wooden houses.  Considered one of the last "kampong" areas of Singapore.

For the last night, we headed to the Airport Road Hawker for some Chili Crab and Satay.

Jim and I were so sad to say goodbye to Kyle and Meg!  We are grateful they came to visit - we know it isn't easy, and it meant the world to have them come see us and experience our new Asian life.

It was the best 10 days, and the perfect ending to my 7 month "vacation".  On Monday, I will officially be a retired housewife as I start work again.

Cheers,
Jenna and Jim
